K.W. Reese Incorporated began as, and still is, a family owned and operated business in 1972 that was focused on infrastructure support as a utility right-of-way contractor. Their services have expanded to include vegetation management, railroad track construction, temporary access roads and bridges and work pads.
K.W. Reese had a unique situation arise in 2013 that brought Rotz & Stonesifer, P.C. into their lives. They had an onsite controller who was leaving and unfortunately, was the only person on the staff who knew how to perform those duties, leaving no one to fill the empty position while the hiring process for a new controller was taking place.
After some research, K.W. Reese found that Rotz & Stonesifer, P.C. performs interim controllership duties to companies who are in situations just like this one. They made the call and two days later, Dennis Shindle showed up to shadow the current controller, get a feel for the company and ask the right questions so the information would all be available to the new controller once hired.
Dennis stayed on as the interim controller for November and December and then trained the new controller until she was completely prepared to take over the position. Todd Stonesifer also stopped in throughout the process to act as extra help when they needed it.
Rotz & Stonesifer, P.C. also assists in reconciling and preparing year end workpapers for tax and financial statement preparation. Jeffrey Reese was impressed and happy with the knowledge brought in regarding multi state situations.
Rotz & Stonesifer, P.C. took a play from K.W. Reese’s book, building a “temporary accounting bridge” for them while their staffing situation was under construction.
