When I graduated in 1979 from Chambersburg Area High School with a focus in Business Secretarial work, I never thought I would end up working in the accounting field. I envisioned myself working as a secretary for a local business, which I did, it just so happened to be Miller & Miller, a CPA firm, in Chambersburg. I chose to move on to being a federal government employee and was employed at Letterkenny Army Depot & DESCOM, until I got married to my husband Lynn in 1980.
We moved to Myrtle Beach where my husband was stationed in the US Air Force, and I was employed as a federal government employee on the base. We returned to Chambersburg a few years later after Lynn’s discharge from the US Air Force. That’s where I found my passion: being a mom! We had three children and I knew I wanted my focus to be on caring for them. I worked part-time, again at Letterkenny Army Depot and for the private sector.
I was fortunate enough to join the team at Rotz & Stonesifer after the company I was working for closed its Chambersburg operation in 2004, and still remain part-time.
As my experience grew in the payroll department, so did my children. I was able to continue my passion for raising my family but still increase my knowledge in the various aspects of payroll preparation.
I’ve always been a natural caretaker which transitions into my career as well. It’s important to me to be able to help companies with such a crucial aspect of their business. Building and fostering relationships with my clients is something I truly enjoy.
Family is so important to me; and although my own children are grown, I’m now able to help with their children and aging parents because of my schedule. I enjoy traveling back to Myrtle Beach for vacation several times a year and just spending time with my husband, children and grandchildren. I also enjoy spending my free time singing in our church choir and attending my grandchildren’s various school and sports activities.
